The Northeast Church was started by God in November 1997. He began with a group of about forty people who were simply responding to His call by meeting in a warehouse. As He added to our number, we began looking for a place to meet which would better accommodate the congregation. We started meeting at the building of the Walnut Village Church of Christ in March 1998. Shortly thereafter, the Walnut Village congregation dissolved and many of the members became a part of the Northeast Church. Since that time, we have continued to grow in our understanding and obedience to our mission, "To make and mature disciples to the glory of God," and the vision that God has given us.
From the beginning, we have realized the value of the small, local congregation in serving the immediate community, not only in spiritual needs, but in helping to feed and clothe the less fortunate as well. It is our desire to not create yet another mega-church, but to grow community churches, and as they grow past the 300-500 member mark, to spawn other churches.
We have dynamic campus ministries at University of Texas at Dallas and at Collin County Community College that operate during the school-year as quasi-churches.
