The Northeast Church philosophy is to raise leaders from the ground up. Therefore, children are very important to us - and by extension, so are the parenting skills our members posses. The leaders in this body recognize the challenges facing today's parents whether their children are infants or have reached adulthood, and are committed to continuous education and support to our parenting members.
The Northeast Church periodically conducts a Parenting Seminar at the Garland Northeast Church building for the entire church body.
Topics and Breakout Sessions typically include the impacting areas of:
Discipling vs. Disciplining
Dealing with Inherited Sin
Doing Hard Things
Spiritual and Physical Development
Setting Standards in Your Home
Rebellion vs. Curiosity
Letting the Church Help Raise Your Kids
Blended Families
Measuring Success
Single Moms/Dads Raising Children
Technology and Teens - Keeping Them Safe
Raising Young Adults - Not Teenagers
Talking to your kids about sex
Peer Pressure - Drinking, Drugs and Sex
Grand parenting/Adult children/Parenting children who have children
The seminars are weekend deals, that include breakfast, lunch and dinner for the attendees. You will need to arrange for your own childcare; for assistance with this matter, contact Leslie Rowe.
If you cannot afford this event but would like to attend, scholarships are available – contact our Directors.
